USDA surplus commodity food items are distributed annually, usually in the month of May, to eligible households.

North Georgia Community Action Commodity Foods Distribution

NGCA provides nutritional needs to low-income people in communities. Major accomplishments of this program include assistance for families and individuals to increase the amount of food available by their participation in the food share program throughout the state.

The NGCA are used to purchase a variety of foods to create food pantries/food banks to meet the nutritional needs of eligible residents of the North Georgia Region..

Clients are served on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*Please note, many of our programs require individuals to meet federal income guidelines in order to receive services.
